Leon Beaudoin

Project Manager

Which Cambridge do you work from and how long have you been with F-star?

I work in our UK office and have been with the company for over 2 years.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I have been in the scientific industry now for over 20 years; prior to joining F-star I was a pre-clinical study director for a contract research organization. I am a now a Project Manager at F-star working on both pre-clinical and clinical programs.

What is a typical day like for you at F-star?

Always busy! There is no real quiet day at F-star and interaction with colleagues is constant. Each day is different, which brings new challenges with a need to collaborate with colleagues and troubleshoot any known or unexpected issues.

What do you enjoy most about your work at F-star?

Seeing the process of F-star product candidates go from discovery through to entering the clinic. Also contributing to important milestones.

What activities or hobbies do you enjoy?

In my spare time I am an Army Reservist; my role being an Infantry soldier. I was recently mobilized as part of Operation Rescript, which is a British military operation to help tackle the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom, which has been a rewarding contribution. F-star has been supportive of my service in the military and during mobilization period during the pandemic.

I really enjoy keeping fit, and our weekly F-star bootcamp sessions! I typically start every morning off with a 4–5-mile run followed by a HIIT or weights session workout.
